Adriano Espaillat, a U.S. Congressman representing New York's 13th district since 2017, has expressed his views on various political issues through recent tweets. His comments reflect concerns about the impact of policies and actions by prominent figures such as Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

On March 5, 2025, Espaillat highlighted the case of an individual named Octavio, describing him as "just one of many Americans" affected by what he termed as "Trump and Musk’s indiscriminate purge of the federal workforce." He emphasized that losing dedicated public servants like Octavio weakens the United States federal government. "Octavio is just one of many Americans, victims of Trump and Musk’s indiscriminate purge of the federal workforce."

In another tweet on the same day, Espaillat criticized former President Donald Trump for not aligning his actions with his words regarding support for the working class. He accused Trump of plotting against critical programs such as Medicare and Social Security. "Trump’s words do not match his actions. He claims to care for the working class, yet has actively plotted against them, threatening to tear away critical programs such as Medicare and Social Security."

Furthermore, Espaillat expressed strong disapproval towards Elon Musk and DOGE in a subsequent tweet. He labeled them as "thieves," "robbers," and "enemies of democracy and the constitution." "Elon Musk and DOGE are not heroes. They are thieves, robbers, and enemies of democracy and the constitution."
