SUNY Downstate Medical Center enrolls 211 undergrads

At SUNY Downstate Medical Center, 62 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 80 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Brooklyn enrolled 1,846 students in fall 2018, including 211 in undergraduate and 1,635 in graduate programs, data shows. 82.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (35 percent) and Black or African American (25 percent).
