Five years ago, during the global pandemic shutdown, Juilliard's values played a crucial role in guiding the institution through challenging times. President Damian Woetzel recently reflected on this period, highlighting several key aspects of Juilliard's response to the crisis.

"Our values guided us forward," Woetzel stated. He expressed pride in the early efforts made to ensure the safety of everyone within the community. This included initiating virtual performances almost immediately after the shutdown began.
