Grace Meng, a U.S. Congress representative for New York's 6th district, recently shared her concerns on social media regarding several administrative decisions. Meng, who has been serving in Congress since 2013 and previously served in the New York State Assembly, used her platform to address issues affecting both local and national interests.
On March 8, 2025, Meng tweeted about personnel changes at the Department of Justice. She stated: "Over the last 24 hours, the administration fired or transferred another slate of attorneys & officials at the Dept. of Justice. These are career public servants that handled pardon work, bankruptcy litigation, internal ethics, & other critical issues." She characterized these actions as "another attack."
The following day on March 9, Meng addressed budgetary cuts impacting NOAA's operations. In her tweet she expressed: "Additional cuts at NOAA undermine our ability to predict weather in our communities and protect wildlife. From farms to fisheries, this is a serious threat to both our environment & our economy."
Later on March 9, Meng voiced her concern over potential policy changes affecting Ukrainian refugees in the United States. She noted: "I’m concerned by reports that the Administration is considering kicking out Ukrainians who legally found refuge here in the US. Queens residents have welcomed 2,129 Ukrainians to our borough. Sending them back to a war zone is cruel & short-sighted."
