Grace Meng, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, recently expressed her views on various economic issues through a series of tweets. Meng has been an active voice in Congress and previously served in the New York State Assembly. She holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Yeshiva University.

On March 5, 2025, Meng criticized the President's handling of interest rates and tariffs, stating that "When the President mentioned interest rates, he neglected to mention how the markets tanked the same day his tariffs were implemented."

In another tweet posted on the same day, Meng highlighted the importance of social security for Americans: "Social security is a lifeline for millions of Americans. It delivers hundreds of thousands of payments with 99.7% accuracy." She further commented on potential staff cuts at the Social Security Administration by saying it "hurts seniors & families the most."

Additionally, Meng addressed the impact of tariffs on American consumers: "Tariffs are great if Americans want their wallets squeezed and like paying higher prices for food, prescriptions, & every day services."
