Kristina Thomas appointed director at St. Mary's Healthcare

St. Mary’s Healthcare has announced the appointment of Kristina Thomas as the new Director of Emergency and Urgent Care Services. Thomas previously served as the clinical nurse manager of telemetry and neuroscience at Glens Falls Hospital and has held various nursing and supervisory roles in hospitals across Louisiana and northern New York. Additionally, she was an adjunct professor at SUNY Adirondack.

"Kristina is an excellent fit for St. Mary’s," stated Julie Fenton, executive director of clinical operations at St. Mary’s Healthcare. "Her emphasis on the patient experience, and her commitment to a supportive work culture, will help St. Mary’s cement our position as the community’s first choice for healthcare and for employment."

Thomas brings a wealth of experience to her new role, including her background as a registered nurse and U.S. Army veteran. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and a master’s degree in nursing from Empire State University. Her credentials also include certification as a nurse executive by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

In addition to her professional achievements, Thomas serves as president of the Adirondack Chapter of the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association and is affiliated with several organizations such as the American Nurses Association, the American Organization for Nursing Leadership, and the Emergency Nurses Association.

St. Mary’s Healthcare has been serving Montgomery and Fulton counties since 1903, providing essential healthcare services through its hospital facilities, Rao Outpatient Pavilion, among other locations.
