The Metropolitan Museum of Art is showcasing a selection from the Jefferson R. Burdick collection, known for its extensive array of historical baseball cards. This collection, donated by Burdick, an electrician and collector from Syracuse, New York, includes over 300,000 trade cards, postcards, and posters. Among these are more than 30,000 baseball cards that date back to the 1880s.

The current exhibition highlights over one hundred baseball cards produced between 1895 and 1956. These cards display various printing techniques and styles featuring notable figures from baseball's past.
