About 47.2 percent of the 282 degrees and certificates handed out by Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology in 2017-18 were to students in mechanic and repair technologies/technicians programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Flushing conferred 130 associate's degrees and 3 bachelor's degrees in mechanic and repair technologies/technicians programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in airframe mechanics and aircraft maintenance technology/technician. Data shows the school gave out 130 associate's degrees in airframe mechanics and aircraft maintenance technology/technician, followed by 66 bachelor's degrees in aviation/airway management and operations and 26 bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering/mechanical technology/technician.

The college enrolled 1,542 students for 2017-18, including 1,535 in undergraduate programs and 7 in graduate programs.
