Lea R. Sneider's collection of Korean art is currently being showcased in a significant exhibition that spans across forty years of her collecting journey. The exhibition is backed by loans and gifts from her collection provided by her children. Sneider collected a wide range of Korean art, moving beyond conventional literati art to embrace more vibrant and colorful art forms connected to everyday life. This collection showcases Korea's lively material culture.
Featuring around 100 pieces, the exhibition highlights the widespread use of auspicious symbolism and the dynamic nature of Korean art throughout history. These pieces range from paintings, ceramics, furniture, textiles, to funerary and ritual objects. The collection spans from the fifth century to present times, offering a historical perspective on Korean artistic expression. Sneider highlighted that these artworks "reflect the vitality and warmth of the people who engaged with them."
"The exhibition is made possible by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea (MCST)." It is staged from December 2, 2024, to July 20, 2025, and renewed from July 26, 2025, to February 15, 2026.
