Justyna Rzewinski, a PhD candidate at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work (WSSW), is set to receive the 2025 Champion of Justice Award on March 27, 2025. This accolade recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to social, environmental, or economic justice issues within the NASW-NYS or NASW-NYC Chapter areas.

The award highlights efforts that promote cultural and ethnic diversity awareness and ensure equitable access to resources. It also honors those who strive for equal opportunities and work towards eliminating oppressive barriers while advocating for human rights protection and encouraging inclusive decision-making.

Rzewinski is a licensed clinical social worker with over ten years of experience. She has held leadership positions in correctional health outpatient treatment and reentry programs. Currently, she serves as the clinical director of a supervised release program in New York City aimed at reducing pretrial detention.
