Hakeem Jeffries, a U.S. Congressman representing New York's 8th district since 2013, has been vocal on social media regarding his stance on recent political actions by the Republican Party. Jeffries, who succeeded Edolphus Towns and previously served in the New York State Assembly, expressed his views through a series of tweets.

On February 7, 2025, Jeffries commented on the Republican Party's perceived mandate to alter Medicaid. He stated: "House Republicans appear to believe they have a big mandate to end Medicaid as we know it. How can I say this politely? Get lost."

In another tweet dated February 9, 2025, Jeffries criticized the "Extreme MAGA Republicans" for their promises and actions related to Project 2025. He wrote: "Extreme MAGA Republicans spent last year promising to lower costs. And lying about their connection to Project 2025. They have spent this year implementing the extreme Project 2025 agenda. And haven’t done a damn thing to lower the high cost of living."

Continuing his critique on February 10, 2025, Jeffries addressed what he described as a "Republican Bait and Switch." He noted: "The Republican Bait and Switch is in full swing. These people control the House, the Senate and the Presidency. Why haven’t they done a thing to lower the high cost of living in America? Just broke it down on the House floor."
