Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) marks the fifth anniversary of its Florida location in West Palm Beach on January 27, 2025. Since opening in 2020, HSS Florida has served approximately 40,000 patients with conditions such as joint pain, sports injuries, osteoarthritis, and back pain. Patients have traveled from various counties in Florida and states like New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

The facility spans 60,000 square feet and provides comprehensive orthopedic care including advanced diagnostics, imaging services, physical therapy, performance testing, and an outpatient total joint replacement program. The location features four operating suites equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Tara M. McCoy, CEO of HSS Florida stated: “I am so proud to bring HSS-level care to this community... We are able to offer innovative alternatives to surgery with our comprehensive approach." She highlighted the facility's rehabilitation center which uses technologies like motion capture systems and strength-testing systems.

In response to growing demand for orthopedic care in Palm Beach County, HSS Florida has doubled its number of physicians from seven to fourteen and increased operating rooms from two to four. Exam room capacity has also expanded. Fellowship-trained radiologists at HSS provide expertise in musculoskeletal imaging ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Sheeraz Qureshi, MD, MBA emphasized: “When we opened HSS Florida five years ago... It is our responsibility to not only maintain these standards but also expand access..."

HSS Florida continues building partnerships across local organizations for optimized patient care. Bryan T. Kelly, MD noted: “Working closely with respected area institutions is integral... Our recently announced collaboration with the University of Miami... exemplify HSS’s growing footprint in Florida."
