Over a span of forty years, Lea R. Sneider amassed a notable collection of Korean art that defied traditional conventions. Although she valued literati art, her interest leaned towards vibrant and colorful forms linked to daily life. This led to a diverse assembly that showcases Korea's lively material culture.

The exhibition, featuring a significant donation and loans from the Lea R. Sneider Collection, is generously provided by her children. It includes around 100 pieces ranging from the fifth century to modern times, such as paintings, ceramics, furniture, textiles, and objects used in funerary and ritual contexts. The display emphasizes the widespread presence of auspicious symbolism and the straightforward dynamism characteristic of Korean art.

Sneider once remarked that these works embody the vitality and warmth of those who interacted with them—a notion reflected in her collection's focus on cultural and everyday significance.

This exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea (MCST).
