Yeshiva University will mark the 100th anniversary of its Hanukkah Dinner on December 15, 2024. The event celebrates a century of achievements and honors the institution's growth and global leadership. The dinner will feature an immersive program reflecting on notable figures previously honored by YU, such as Albert Einstein, Jonas Salk, Golda Meir, and John F. Kennedy.
The event will highlight key families who have contributed to Yeshiva University's development over the years. Daniel S. Loeb, Mitchell Julis, and Anita Zucker are set to serve as dinner chairs. Ingeborg and Ira Rennert will act as honorary chairs with Shari Redstone, Harry Adjmi, Terry Kassel, and Paul Singer as honorary co-chairs.
Chella Safra and the Wilf Family will be honored during the celebration. Chella Safra is a member of the Yeshiva University Board of Trustees and Chair of the Moise Y. Safra Philanthropic Foundation. She will receive an honorary doctorate in recognition of her contributions. The Wilf family will accept the Centennial Medallion for their dedication to Yeshiva University.
Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University, expressed appreciation for the institution's history: “There is no institution comparable to YU in the history of the world,” he said. “This year’s centennial dinner gives us the opportunity to look back with great appreciation on our over 100-year roots as we build upon it to capture the enormous opportunities for YU today.”
The dinner will take place at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City starting at 5 p.m., with a reception followed by dinner at 6 p.m.
