The City University of New York (CUNY) is set to host polling sites across 14 campuses for early voting and Election Day. The initiative allows New Yorkers to cast their votes at CUNY locations in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. Early voting will take place from October 26 to November 3.

“Wespendeverydaypreparing CUNY studentsto be sociallyawareparticipants in oursociety, and votingseasonallowsustoexpandthatreach as wewelcome New Yorkers onto our campuses toexercisetheirrightto vote,” said CUNY Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez. “At CUNY, we are proudto once againplay a role in allowingthecommunitytomaketheirvoicesheard and shapethenextgeneration.”

The university is also promoting voter registration through its non-partisan CUNY Votes initiative, which encourages civic engagement among students across its 25 colleges. Eligible voters have until October 26 to register.

During this election period, voters will decide on the next president and vice president of the United States, along with federal and state legislators and judges. They are also encouraged to vote on one state proposal and five city proposals by flipping their ballots.

To find their designated polling locations for early voting or Election Day, voters can use the Find My Poll Site tool provided by the NYC Board of Elections.

Ten CUNY campuses will serve as early voting sites open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and weekends from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., while six campuses will be available on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

As a reminder, anyone waiting in line when polls close is still entitled to vote.

CUNY remains committed to providing educational opportunities regardless of background or means, continuing its mission since its founding in 1847 as the nation’s first free public institution of higher education.
