St. John's professor joins initiative promoting sustainable development goals

Heidi Upton, DMA, an Associate Professor at the Institute for Core Studies and Department of Art and Design at St. John's University, has been chosen to participate in the Stevens Initiative’s Fall 2024 Breakouts campaign. Dr. Upton is also a fellow in the St. John’s Global Online Learning Exchange (GOLE).

The Breakouts campaign showcases multimedia projects that highlight virtual exchange as a tool to promote the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The aim is to present these goals in an accessible and engaging manner.

Dr. Upton, an experienced participant in St. John’s GOLE, has conducted courses with international partners from institutions such as Manchester School of Architecture; Manchester Metropolitan University; Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in Germany; and VID Specialized University in Norway. Alongside her partner from VID Specialized University, Dr. Upton participated in a year-long professional development program under the Norwegian Panorama Virtual Exchange/Collaborative Online International Learning Partnerships Initiative and the American Association of Colleges and Universities Institute on Virtual Exchange/Collaborative Online International Learning.
