Yeshiva University announced the establishment of the Blue Square Scholars program, funded by a $1 million donation from philanthropist Robert Kraft. This initiative aims to support Jewish students transferring to YU for its educational quality and campus atmosphere, particularly in light of rising antisemitism on college campuses.

The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, founded by Kraft, has been active in combating hate and promoting unity through its Blue Square symbol. The new scholarship program will provide infrastructure to accommodate top students aligned with YU's values of compassion and respect.

Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University, expressed gratitude: "We express our deep gratitude to Robert Kraft and the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism for establishing the Blue Square Scholars program, and for all they have done to foster a more inclusive society throughout our country."

Kraft stated his intentions: "I am honored to establish the Blue Square Scholars program at Yeshiva University in order to give students a welcoming place to further their education and grow into leaders who will serve as advocates for unity and respect and will push back on all hate."

Following an October 7th terror attack on Israel by Hamas, Rabbi Berman convened over 100 university presidents against terrorism. He also led a group of university leaders on the March of the Living at Auschwitz on Holocaust Memorial Day.

Yeshiva University is known for its core Torah values and offers diverse programs across its New York City campuses. It is ranked among the nation's leading academic institutions.
