Logan Frances Kruger, a graduate of Juilliard's dance program in 2007, shared her journey of life after Juilliard in a recent post. Reflecting on her experiences, Kruger expressed, "I spent my first year and a half after graduating from Juilliard cocooned in a home dance studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn, working with my friends and collaborators from school, creating, documenting, and performing our work. There was something very special about that time, cementing the relationships I had made at Juilliard, and allowing the experience of those four intense years to settle within me."
Kruger went on to discuss her professional endeavors post-Juilliard, stating, "Eventually I began freelancing for other choreographers including Shen Wei and Jonah Bokaer, and in 2009 I joined the Limón Dance Company." She highlighted the significance of joining the Limón Dance Company, describing it as a "homecoming" due to her background in Limón technique and the company's focus on long-term exploration of ideas and repertoire.
During her nine-year tenure with the Limón Dance Company, Kruger immersed herself in various dances, allowing her to grow and evolve as a dancer. Transitioning towards a leadership role, she became the rehearsal director for the company, providing her with a new perspective on the work she had been deeply involved in. In 2021, Kruger took on the role of the company's associate artistic director, further solidifying her commitment to the world of dance.
Expressing gratitude for her career path, Kruger shared, "I continue to be so grateful for the trajectory my career has taken, as I’ve been able to stay connected to the work, and build my life outside of dance." She now resides in Brooklyn with her family and remains dedicated to her work with the talented artists of the Limón Dance Company.
Kruger's story serves as a testament to the transformative journey that follows graduation from Juilliard, showcasing growth, dedication, and a deep-seated passion for the arts.
