Born and raised in Brooklyn, Joe's journey from the grandchild of Italian immigrants to a successful real estate developer was marked by dedication and drive.
Joe's commitment to education and philanthropy was unwavering throughout his career, as highlighted by his contributions to St. John's University and the establishment of the Mattone Family Institute for Real Estate Law. His son, Michael X. Mattone, continues his father's legacy by actively supporting the Law School and the Denise ‘90 and Michael ‘91 Mattone Center for Law and Religion.
