ABN Amro Services Company issued the following announcement on April 23
Today is the first day of work at ABN AMRO for the new CEO Robert Swaak. Yesterday, at the Annual General Meeting, Mr Swaak took over the helm from Kees van Dijkhuizen. It was an unusual situation, as he addressed the meeting from his home.
Robert Swaak introduced himself to ABN AMRO’s 20,000 employees this morning by way of a personal video message. And on LinkedIn, he shared his enthusiasm about his new job and thanked his predecessor Kees van Dijkhuizen: “I have great admiration for what Kees and his team have accomplished. Under their leadership, the bank’s sustainability strategy and purpose – ‘Banking for better, for generations to come’ – were introduced. The crisis situation we’re in now shows that we’re truly living the purpose. I’m looking forward to meeting my new colleagues, clients and other people involved with the bank.”
