New York Liberty guard Betnijah Laney-Hamilton has undergone surgery on her left knee to address an acute meniscus injury, according to ESPN's reports and a statement from the Liberty. The surgery, which took place at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), is set to keep Laney-Hamilton out of action for five to six months.

Prior to the injury, Laney-Hamilton participated in two games of Unrivaled, a newly established 3-on-3 league. The current injury follows a minor procedure she had last July on her right knee, which kept her out of play for approximately six weeks. During her return, she contributed to the Liberty securing the first WNBA championship in history.
