Hakeem Jeffries, currently representing New York’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared his views on a series of political events through a series of tweets. Jeffries, who has been active in U.S. politics since serving in the New York State Assembly, used his platform to voice opinions and report on significant legislative actions.
In a tweet posted on March 30, 2025, Jeffries highlighted the results of a recent ballot in Louisiana: "There were four Republican-backed extreme constitutional amendments on the ballot in Louisiana yesterday. The voters REJECTED them all (in a state Trump won by 22 points in November). Keep the pressure on."
On April 1, 2025, Jeffries expressed his gratitude towards Senator Cory Booker in another message: "Thank you @SenBooker for holding the Senate floor and powerfully laying out the dangers of the Trump agenda for the American people."
Later that day, Jeffries addressed a recent attempt by Republicans to curtail voting rights for new mothers via a new rule. He noted: "Republicans just tried to pass a rule to stop new mothers from voting. House Democrats defeated it. And now GOP leaders have been forced to cancel votes for the rest of the week."
