Adriano Espaillat, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 13th district, has recently addressed several community concerns through his social media posts. Espaillat, who succeeded Charles Rangel in 2017 and has been serving since then, shared updates on a local incident and an opportunity for high school students in his district.

On March 24, 2025, Espaillat informed the public about a scaffolding collapse at Yeshiva University located at West 185th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. In his tweet, he assured that "thankfully, no one was injured" and mentioned that his team is coordinating with local officials to secure the area and prevent future incidents.

In another post on the same day, written in Spanish, Espaillat reiterated the message regarding the scaffolding incident at Yeshiva University. He stated that "afortunadamente, nadie resultó herido" and emphasized their ongoing communication with local authorities to ensure safety measures are implemented. The full text can be found here.

Later that day, Espaillat announced the opening of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in New York's 13th district via Twitter. He encouraged painters, illustrators, or any visual artists to participate for a chance to have their work displayed in the U.S. Capitol. The deadline for submissions is April 24, 2025.
