Adriano Espaillat, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 13th district, took to social media in March 2025 to recognize notable women from his district during Women's History Month. His tweets highlighted the contributions of women leaders in the Manhattan Community Board 9.

On March 21, Espaillat tweeted about Monique Hardin-Cordero, stating "March is Women’s History Month, and I want to highlight strong women in NY-13. Monique Hardin-Cordero is the 2nd Vice Chair of Manhattan Community Board 9, contributing to the community and breaking barriers for women across the state. Thank you, Monique, for all of your hard work."

In a follow-up tweet on the same day at a later time, Espaillat reiterated his appreciation for Hardin-Cordero's efforts in Spanish: "Marzo es el Mes de la Historia de la Mujer, y quiero destacar a mujeres fuertes del NY-13. Monique Hardin-Cordero es la 2da vicepresidenta de la Junta Comunitaria 9 de Manhattan. Su labor contribuye a la comunidad y rompe barreras para las mujeres en todo el estado. Gracias,"

The following day on March 22, he acknowledged another influential woman leader from his district: "March is Women’s History Month, and I want to highlight strong women in NY-13. Deirdre McIntosh-Brown is the Manhattan Community Board 9 Treasurer, contributing to the community and breaking barriers for women across the state. Thank you, Deirdre, for all of your hard work."
