In a collaborative effort, students from St. John’s University and the University of Montreal have launched the "Voices of Forensic Psychology: Global Podcast Series." This initiative is part of the Global Online Learning Exchange (GOLE) integrated into a forensic psychology course at St. John's University.

The project, led by faculty members including Dr. Tamsin Higgs from the University of Montreal, allowed students to explore topics such as criminal profiling and the psychology of terrorism. Despite being in the same time zone, students worked asynchronously due to differing schedules to produce podcast episodes that blend theoretical knowledge with practical application and cultural insights.

Students found the experience enriching and transformative, noting it enhanced their understanding of forensic psychology's global applications. One student remarked on how collaborating with peers from Montreal deepened their appreciation for cultural and legal differences in forensic psychology. Another highlighted the development of practical skills like communication and media production.

The first season features six episodes available on Spotify, showcasing discussions on various topics with guest speakers interviewed by students. The episodes were selected through a voting process involving both students and faculty.

This partnership exemplifies GOLE's spirit by preparing students for an interconnected world. Plans are underway to continue this collaboration in the spring semester with a second season of podcasts.

The incorporation of GOLE into the curriculum has been rewarding, equipping students with practical skills and fostering connections beyond the classroom. The upcoming second season aims to further enhance these educational bridges through innovative projects.
