Adriano Espaillat, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 13th district, has recently shared his views on several pressing issues through social media. Known for his advocacy and political involvement since replacing Charles Rangel in 2017, Espaillat continues to voice concerns about violence against postal workers, the use of body cameras by immigration authorities, and budget priorities.
On February 16, 2025, Espaillat expressed solidarity with Section 36 of Postal Workers and Brian Renfroe, the national president of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), in memory of Ray Hodge. He stated: "Hoy me solidarizo con la Sección 36 de Carteros y con el presidente nacional de @NALC, Brian Renfroe, en memoria de la vida de Ray Hodge." He further emphasized support for Ray's family and colleagues to help stop violence against postal workers.
Later that day, he criticized the decision to end the use of body cameras by ICE and CBP agents. On February 16, he remarked: "Poner fin al uso de las cámaras corporales de los agentes de ICE y CBP tiene una motivación vil..." Espaillat accused these agencies of wanting to hide actions such as family separations and deportations from public view.
On February 18, 2025, Espaillat commented on the Republican Party's newly released budget plan for 2025. He claimed that it prioritizes other interests over those of everyday Americans. His statement read: "Republicans have released their 2025 budget plan, and it’s clear they are putting everyday Americans last."
