In response to an aviation accident in Philadelphia, Espaillat conveyed his condolences and appreciation for local leadership efforts to keep the public informed during the crisis. On February 1, 2025, he tweeted about praying for the victims and acknowledged Governor Shapiro and Mayor Cherelle Parker for their roles in managing the situation. "Estoy rezando por las víctimas del accidente aéreo de Filadelfia y por todos los afectados por esta tragedia.
