In a subsequent tweet posted on the same day, Espaillat reiterated his sentiments in Spanish: "Hacemos una pausa para reflexionar sobre cada una de las vidas de las víctimas inocentes del accidente aéreo de DCA y abrazamos a sus familias durante este momento de duelo nacional."
Later that day, he shared information about an event occurring within his congressional district with a brief message: "Happening today in my district."
