On January 24, 2025, Torres shared that he held a press conference with Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson and Bronx Community Board 1 Chair Clarisa Alayeto. The focus was to protest against what they perceive as unfair treatment of the Bronx by city authorities. Torres stated: "Today, I held a press conference alongside @bronxbp and Bronx Community Board 1 Chair Clarisa Alayeto to send a clear message: Stop treating the Bronx as a dumping ground for an endless stream of shelters."

On January 27, 2025, Torres tweeted about another press conference where he criticized New York State's handling of the Early Intervention Program. In another tweet posted on January 27, 2025, Torres called upon Governor Kathy Hochul to address issues within the early intervention system. He urged for improvements in workforce shortages and waiting lists while advocating for better support for working-class providers: "I am calling upon Governor Hochul to fix the broken system of early intervention...to stabilize working-class EI providers with an 11% reimbursement…"
