On December 17, 31 students from the M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies at Yeshiva University celebrated their Completion Ceremony at the Yeshiva University Museum. This event marked a pivotal moment as they prepare to become licensed healthcare providers.

Dr. Paul Russo, dean of the Katz School and vice provost at Yeshiva University, opened the ceremony by acknowledging the students' dedication throughout their demanding program. “This is a joyous time,” said Dean Russo. He highlighted their journey through "sixty-four credits, 27 courses, 10 rotations" and emphasized the significance of practicing medicine with competence and empathy, inspired by Rambam Maimonides.

Ronee Goldman, PA class president, delivered an address that captured the collective experiences of her peers. She described their challenges as akin to "drinking out of a fire hydrant while on fire," celebrating their resilience and camaraderie. She acknowledged family, mentors, and classmates for their unwavering support: “To all the loved ones, incredible faculty and friends who have been our pillars of strength, thank you."

Several students received awards for exceptional achievements. Molly Weir was honored with the Scholarship, Advocacy, and Professionalism Award; Noah Newlon received the Merit and Integrity Award; Natalia Aneiros and Kristen Hass shared the Clinical Excellence Award; Alexandra Tetreault was chosen for the Peer Award.

Five students were inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society: Kristin Haas, Noah Newlon, Simone Northman, Alexandra Tetreault, and Molly Weir.

The ceremony concluded with Dr. Lorraine Cashin leading students in reciting the PA Oath. Dr. Cashin reminded them that this marks a beginning: “You are now at the starting line.”
