Adriano Espaillat, a U.S. Congressman representing New York's 13th district, shared several thoughts on December 6, 2024, through his social media account. The tweets covered topics ranging from political appointments to historical reflections.

On December 6, 2024, Espaillat congratulated his colleague Greg Casar for being unanimously elected as the president of the US Progressives for the upcoming 119th Congress. He expressed anticipation in collaborating closely with Casar in leadership roles as they approach the new year. "Felicitaciones a mi estimado colega, @RepCasar, por haber sido elegido por unanimidad presidente de @USProgressives para el 119.° Congreso."

Later that day, Espaillat reflected on the abolition of slavery in the United States which occurred 159 years ago on that date. He used this anniversary to highlight ongoing efforts to build a nation that safeguards the rights of all its citizens. "159 years ago today, slavery was abolished in the United States. We are reminded of our continued work to build a nation that protects the rights of all its people."

In another post on December 6, he reiterated this message in Spanish emphasizing continuous efforts towards protecting citizens' rights across America."Hoy, hace 159 años, fue abolida la esclavitud en los Estados Unidos. Esto nos recuerda nuestro trabajo continuo para construir una nación que proteja los derechos de todos sus ciudadanos."
