NYU celebrates inclusion in 2024's most cited researchers list

Twenty-five researchers from New York University have been recognized as some of the world's most cited scholars, marking a significant achievement in their respective fields. This recognition is part of the Highly Cited Researchers 2024 list, compiled by Clarivate Analytics. The list highlights researchers whose publications are frequently cited by peers, placing them in the top 1% for citations over the past decade.

According to Clarivate, these NYU scientists and social scientists "contribute disproportionately to extending the frontiers of knowledge and contributing to innovations that make the world healthier, more sustainable and drive societal impact."

The honored NYU researchers have made advancements across various disciplines including biology, engineering, medicine, neural science, politics, and public health. Among those named are:

- David B. Abrams from the School of Global Public Health

- Gyorgy Buzsaki from Grossman School of Medicine

- Marylene Cloitre from Grossman School of Medicine

- Samuele Cortese from Grossman School of Medicine

- Orrin Devinsky from Grossman School of Medicine

Clarivate's analysis is based on data from its Web of Science citation index along with qualitative insights by experts at the Institute for Scientific Information at Clarivate.
