St. John’s University recently hosted its annual Accepted Student Day, drawing over 1,800 prospective students and their families to its Queens, NY campus. This event, aimed at giving an immersive glimpse of college life, included tours and insights into the university's academic offerings and modern facilities like the St. Vincent Health Sciences Center. Future developments such as a recreation center and an academic innovation hub were also highlighted.

University President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P., emphasized the university's dedication to its students, stating, "The most important thing about St. John’s is not basketball and it’s not new buildings–it is the people here at St. John’s. We have incredible faculty and staff dedicated to a singular mission–our students.” He remarked on the school's mission to provide a promising future for its students for over 150 years.

The event was hosted by DJ Zeke, a St. John’s alumnus, who energized the audience with his animated presence. Performances from the St. John’s Pep Band, Dance Team, Kickline Team, and Cheerleading Team added to the festive atmosphere.

Hailee Mitura, a high school senior, expressed her excitement about attending St. John's for a major in Criminal Justice. "I really appreciate how St. John’s gives you exactly what you need to forge bonds with others," she shared.

Kevin Bermudez, another prospective student, praised the school's offerings: "I love how big the school is. There is so much to do here!”

The event featured interactive sessions like the Nursing Lab Experience and the Pharmacy Lab Experience. Attendees engaged with faculty, participated in the Student Services Fair, and witnessed the Battle of the Orgs contest.

Parent Frank Chiodi, Jr. was pleased with his son’s decision to join St. John’s. He commented, “I absolutely think St. John’s has one of the best campuses for any student to learn and to have personal and spiritual growth, and to become an independent person.”

The day provided a comprehensive view into the opportunities and community at St. John’s University, setting the stage for the next academic year's incoming students.
