The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies recently hosted a networking event on September 16, 2024, aimed at fostering connections among its graduate students. Organized in collaboration with University Career Services, the event sought to integrate academic learning with professional growth.

Radhika R. Jha, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Academic Engagement, along with Justin Goldberg, Assistant Dean of Graduate Advising Cohort, orchestrated the gathering for newcomers, current students, and alumni. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about campus resources through informative flyers and meet faculty members who supported the new cohort.

Luca Iandoli, Ph.D., Distinguished Chair and Dean of CCPS, welcomed participants as they embarked on the second week of the semester. Presentations from representatives of Graduate Admissions and The Office of Equity and Inclusion highlighted program strengths.

The event attracted over 100 attendees who networked while enjoying refreshments. Elisa Zervos ’22MBA and Maria Alfonso engaged students using a digital poll to gather data on employment status and demographics. They emphasized connecting with University Career Services as an essential step for graduate-level students.

Elisa Zervos moderated a panel featuring Tiffany Eason ’16CPS, ’18MS; Faizan Ahmed ’22CCPS, ’23MPS; and Mr. Goldberg. The panelists discussed workplace acclimation related to leadership skills, communication abilities, professional branding strategies, and trust-building techniques. Through storytelling, themes like imposter syndrome were explored for genuine exchanges.
