CUNY has issued a statement condemning recent acts of vandalism and hateful rhetoric on two of its campuses. The New York Police Department (NYPD) is investigating the incidents. CUNY stated, “The NYPD is currently investigating and the university will not hesitate to enforce disciplinary actions if any members of the CUNY community are found responsible.”
To ensure safety, CUNY has increased security measures by deploying additional private officers. The university emphasized its ongoing collaboration with law enforcement and government partners to safeguard students, faculty, and staff.
“CUNY strongly condemns the violent vandalism and hateful rhetoric that occurred on two of our campuses,” said the statement.
