Speaker Carl Heastie has announced his intention to renominate Dolly Caraballo to the Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government. Caraballo has been serving as a commissioner since 2022. She is a managing member of the law firm Caraballo & Mandell, LLC and is an experienced civil litigator who has tried cases in various forums, including U.S. District Courts, New York State Supreme and Surrogate Courts, and New York City Civil Courts.

Caraballo also serves on the Latino Judges Foundation Board. Her previous roles include membership on the New York City Mayor’s Advisory Committee on the Judiciary from 2003 until 2013, a nomination by former Chief Judge Judith Kaye. Additionally, she has served as president of the Puerto Rican Bar Association and co-chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Minority in the Professions. Caraballo was also part of the Office of Court Administration’s Commission to Examine Solo and Small Firm Practice.
