Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny (R,C-Coney Island) joined his Assembly Minority colleagues in Albany to advocate for increased school safety and security. During a press conference, they announced the release of the final report from the Minority Conference Task Force on School Safety & Security. This report was developed after assembly members met with mental health experts, teachers, parents, and administrators statewide through a series of roundtables.

"Deadly violence in our schools is happening at an alarming rate and the reality is that we need more armed security outside of our schools to prevent the tragedies we have seen recently," Brook-Krasny stated. "On the mental health side, we need to incentivize mental health professionals to work in our schools and facilitate career pathways for talented individuals who can work in this industry and help our children who are struggling."

The Assembly Minority Task Force on School Safety and Security made several recommendations based on their findings.
