Queens, NY — The Queens Borough Cabinet, chaired by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., is scheduled to convene on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 9:30 am. The meeting will feature updates from key city departments regarding plans for Queens parks this summer and efforts to foster community partnerships.
The gathering, set to take place in-person at the Borough President's second-floor conference room at Queens Borough Hall in Kew Gardens, will also be live-streamed for public viewing on the Borough President's website and YouTube page.
Among the speakers slated to address the Cabinet are officials from the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (NYC Parks) and the New York City Department of Education (DOE). Jackie Langsam, Queens Borough Commissioner at NYC Parks, Nathalia Peralta, Deputy Queens Borough Chief of Recreation at NYC Parks, and Elizabeth Ripotola, Deputy Chief of Operations at NYC Parks, will provide insights into the upcoming summer park plans. Additionally, Serge St. Leger Jr., Senior Director of Community Partnerships at DOE, and Rebecca Rosado, Director of Community Partnerships at DOE, will present on the department's efforts to establish and strengthen community relationships.
The Queens Borough Cabinet, as outlined in the New York City Charter, is overseen by the Borough President and includes District Managers from each Community Board in the Borough, along with representatives from various city agencies. The Cabinet's primary focus lies in ensuring efficient city service delivery and promoting agency responsiveness throughout the borough by engaging with City officials and other stakeholders during its sessions.
