The host of Now Hear This, Scott Yoo, a Juilliard Pre-College alum, shared his journey to the show's creation, recounting how a chance encounter with a PBS producer led to the development of the series. Yoo, reflecting on his return to Juilliard, shared his experience of playing a Mozart sonata with young student Wilson Liu, recalling how it was the same piece that inspired him as a child to pursue music. Regarding the episode, Yoo expressed his desire for audiences to recognize the talent and dedication of young musicians, highlighting the timeless nature of music education.

The students themselves also shared their experiences with the filming process.
