Former hostage Mia Schem, who endured 55 days of captivity in Gaza, embarked on a journey to raise awareness and advocate for the remaining hostages held by Hamas. Despite her wounds and trauma, Mia kept her promise to her fellow captives by making a significant impact on her return to the United States.

Mia's tour began with a special invitation to the State of the Union address in Washington D.C. on March 7, where she met with bipartisan members of Congress, engaged in discussions with prominent figures, and attended the address. She was warmly received by all members of Congress she encountered.

Following her visit to Washington D.C., Mia attended the Oscars and Elton John's Oscar party to continue her advocacy efforts. Her next stop was in New York, where her family's appearance drew the largest crowd in Yeshiva University's Stern College history. Over 700 people gathered to hear Mia's mother and brother share her story of survival and ongoing advocacy.

Rabbi Shay Schachter, who played a crucial role in Mia's trip, highlighted the impact of Jewish unity that Mia's journey inspired. He emphasized how individuals from various Jewish backgrounds came together to support Mia and the cause of freeing the hostages, transcending divides to unite as a culture of faith and miracles.

During moments of despair in captivity, Mia felt the prayers of the Jewish community and witnessed signs from God that gave her strength and reassurance. Her determination to survive was fueled by the support and unity she felt from her community.

Mia's journey not only shed light on the plight of hostages in Gaza but also served as a beacon of unity and faith for the Jewish community. Her resilience and advocacy efforts have inspired many to come together in solidarity for a common cause.
