In February and March 2024, the Zahava and Moshael Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought has continued to make a significant impact across the media landscape with multiple new publications, podcasts, and other contributions.

Director Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik shared insights in various publications, including The Wall Street Journal, where he delved into the iconic painting "Washington Crossing the Delaware" and reflected on the 25th anniversary of The Matrix. In National Review, he emphasized the critical importance of addressing antisemitism, stating, "nothing less than the future of the free world is at stake." Additionally, in Commentary Magazine, he explored the significance of a moment involving the president of Argentina and the Western Wall.

Deputy Director Rabbi Dr. Stuart Halpern's contributions included co-authoring "The Promise of Liberty," a Haggada highlighting the impact of the Exodus story on American history. He also discussed a Revolutionary-era Hebrew prayer for George Washington and previewed videos on "The Hebraic Heroes of America" in Jewish Journal.

Senior Scholar Dr. Tevi Troy engaged in discussions on various platforms, such as Tablet’s Take One Daf Yomi podcast and Mishpacha Magazine, where he analyzed the upcoming rematch between Biden and Trump in the context of historical presidential elections. He also reconsidered former VP Dan Quayle as a potential model for the 2024 GOP running mate pick.

Program Officer Yisroel Ben-Porat participated in the Tradition Podcast to explore the enigmatic figure of "Rabbi" Judah Monis, the first known Jewish-born degree recipient and faculty member at Harvard.

Associate Director Dr. Neil Rogachevsky emphasized the importance of security in the Jewish state in an article for City Journal, highlighting the need to maintain a strong focus on security.

Straus Scholar Rebecca Guzman reflected on her experience in Israel as part of a Straus Center solidarity mission in Jewish Journal.
