CUNYAC Men's Basketball All-Stars Announced at Luncheon; Park - Second Team, Olajide - Sportsmanship Team

Brooklyn, NY----For the first time in three years due to the pandemic, the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) honored the 2022-23 Men's Basketball Conference All-Stars at its Basketball Awards Luncheon hosted at Giando on the Water on Thursday.  Brooklyn College senior forward, Elisha Park, would be named at Second Team Conference All-Star while fellow senior, Kayin Olajide, was selected to the conference's Sportsmanship Team.  The Bulldogs closed out the 2022-23 campaign with a thrilling 91-89 win at home home over York College on Senior Night on Tuesday.   

Notables/Highlights

  • First CUNYAC All-Star honor in his BC 
  • Led the Bulldogs and ranked fourth in the conference in scoring, averaging 15.6 ppg.  
  • Second on the team in rebounding, averaging 6.8 boards per contest.  
  • Led the Bulldogs and ranked fifth in the conference in three-point makes while ranking second in CUNYAC in three-point shooting percentage (40%).  
  • Scored a season-high 30 points in a conference game against Hunter. 
  • Finsihed the season with three double-doubles (points and rebounds). 
  • Scored 20+ points in seven different games on the season.  
  • Led the Bulldogs in rebounding (7.1 rpg) and was second in the conference in steals (54)
  • Second on the team in scoring (13.2 ppg).
  • Played and started in all of the Bulldogs' 24 contests.  
  • "Kayin has been a tremendous part of our program for the last four years. Through his competitive spirit and leadership qualities, Kayin has exhibited sportsmanship at its highest level." - BC Head Coach, Jeffrey Jean-Baptiste.
