How many patents granted in Brooklyn in week ending Aug. 8?

Patent 11

There were 11 patents granted in Brooklyn in the week ending Aug. 8, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is seven more than the week before. Patents included an appliance iron for making edible spoons.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending Aug. 8 belonged to Raphael Tzmach Chudaitov who filed in Sept. 17, 2017.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
