Cost of college went up for all students at CUNY New York City College of Technology

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.9 percent for 2018-19 at CUNY New York City College of Technology, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New York residents paid $7,120 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $200 more than the $6,920 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 107.7 percent more than residents this year, or $14,790. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 3.4 percent from $14,310 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are New York residents. And about 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 85 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 2,592 students received grants or scholarships totaling $21.6 million and 132 students took out student loans totaling more than $591,889.

Including all undergraduates (17,269), 10,796 students used grants or scholarships totaling $78.2 million, and 1,404 students took out $7.6 million in federal student loans.
