16 percent of applicants to Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art were admitted for fall 2018

At Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, 97 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 61 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in New York enrolled 952 students in fall 2018, including 858 in undergraduate and 94 in graduate programs, data shows. 1.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

51 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 34 percent are residents of other states. 15 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (31 percent) and Asian (21 percent).

The school admitted 16 percent of the 2,447 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 55 percent enrolled.
