The Gemological Institute of America-New York enrolls 139 undergrads

At the Gemological Institute of America-New York, 56 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 68 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The private not-for-profit school in New York enrolled 139 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. No undergraduates were transferred from another college or university.

28 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 32 percent are residents of other states. 40 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Asian (24 percent) and white (19 percent).
