79 percent of applicants to Metropolitan College of New York were admitted for fall 2018

At Metropolitan College of New York, 79 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 71 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in New York enrolled 1,027 students in fall 2018, including 698 in undergraduate and 329 in graduate programs, data shows. 26.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

96 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 4 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (53 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (31 percent).

The school admitted 79 percent of the 57 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 62 percent enrolled.
