41 percent of applicants to CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice were admitted for fall 2018

At CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 77 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 58 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in New York enrolled 15,394 students in fall 2018, including 13,319 in undergraduate and 2,075 in graduate programs, data shows. 14.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

95 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 4 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (52 percent) and Black or African American (16 percent).

The school admitted 41 percent of the 16,502 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 28 percent enrolled.
