Graduates earn 259 degrees from Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art

About 58.3 percent of the 259 degrees and certificates handed out by Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in 2017-18 were to students in engineering programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in York conferred 114 bachelor's degrees and 37 master's degrees in engineering programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general fine/studio arts. Data shows the school gave out 71 bachelor's degrees in general fine/studio arts, followed by 33 bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering and 31 bachelor's degrees in electrical and electronics engineering.

The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art enrolled 952 students for 2017-18, including 858 in undergraduate programs and 94 in graduate programs.
