Graduates earn 480 degrees, certificates from the Long Island Business Institute

About 51.7 percent of the 480 degrees and certificates handed out by the Long Island Business Institute in 2017-18 were to students in legal professions and studies programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Flushing conferred 245 associate's degrees and 3 certificates in legal professions and studies programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in court reporting/court reporter. Data shows the school gave out 245 associate's degrees in court reporting/court reporter, followed by 80 associate's degrees in business/office automation/technology/data entry and 58 associate's degrees in general business administration and management.

The institute enrolled 665 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
